Tips on How to Grunge Up Your Journal

ppsbp1
Hi everyone!!! Here are some pictures on how I did the grunge effect on the journal.
This is the insert for the folder before I grunged it up.ppspt2jan2015
Here is the result after using gesso, inks and stamps.ppsbp12
Tips....
ppspt4jan2015
The trick is to gesso the papers using a dry brush with a very light hand. Make sure the brush is not loaded with gesso.

Another tip is to stamp the image first on a piece of paper before stamping it on the project (second generation stamping) -for the background images.
I layered my stamping using different rubber stamps.

Here are some more close-ups on the my favorite pages.

Love love love the stamping!!!

Here is the cover page. I did some dry brushing with gesso first then some stamping.  To finish it off, I used a black inkpad and brush it all over the edges.ppsbp13

Tips For Quilling - Pretty Paper Studio Project

dec-2014e
Hi everyone!!! Ime here to share some tips on paper quilling. I learned all of these while making my December projects. Hope it helps specially for those who are just starting or interested to do paper quilling.
tip #1
dec-2014-pta
When turning the paper using the slotted tool, try to make the edges of the paper even. The outcome would be nicer.
The paper roll on top isn't even the bottom two are.
What I do is to push the paper a little to my thumb and using my index finger to guide it. I'm so sorry I couldn't provide photo.
tip #2
dec-2014-ptb
The first two rolls on top are done with some paper extending the slot on slotted tool while the other two are done with the paper exactly at the edge of the slotted tool. Really makes a difference.
tip #3
dec-2014-ptd
Before I start rolling I break the paper fibers by pulling the paper like streching it using my fingernail on my thumb to put pressure on the paper.
Happy Holidays!!! and Happy crafting everyone!!!

Project for Pretty Paper Studio

dec-2014e
Hi everyone!!! Sharing with you all some holiday projects I did for this month's challenge.  I made 2 cards and an altered project adding paper quilling (snowflakes).  Watch out for some tips on how to paper quill on my next post.
Cards
dec-2014b
Just love the vintage feel of this card...
My base is craft cardstock edges with distress ink. Layered papers were distressed using paper distresser.

dec-2014c

Base for this card is watercolor paper. I created a simple card with watercolor effect for the background and some gold ink splatters to a create contrast.
Altered project
dec-2014d
These are 2 pieces of candle holder, the one on top is bigger. I just stack them with the bottom facing each other to add height.
This is so simple to do.... I just wrapped a fabric around the glass bottle and used glue gun to stick the fabric to the glass. The nice thing about this is you can remove the faric after the holidays and use it for another projoct.
