Once Upon A Sketch February Challenge

Hi crafty friends!!!
I'm here to share a layout I created for Once Upon A Sketch February Challenge.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on the sketch.
I always adhere my layouts over a heavy chipboard to make it flat. I place my journaling on the chipboard then stamping it with a personalized stamp.

Here is the journal. Something about my daughter.

Some close-ups

Homemade glass beads gel. It's the first medium I applied to my base then some misting.

Layers of stickers and patterned paper underneath the arrow. I made the arrow with a wooden stick that I bought from a drugstore (I think it's for slides), feather and heart.
The chippie word JOY is primed with gesso then colored with prima chalk edgers, dabbing gently to give more texture.

Lovely bow made using the envelop punch board.

Cluster of prima flowers.

Here, I added a stamped image that I fussy cut then colored withe distress inks. The word JOY and chipboard frame behind the photos is from Blue Fern Studio both colored with prima chalk edgers

That's all for now. Thanks for dropping by and happy crafting!!!

Photo Tutorial - air dry clay hearts

Hi! I'm back again to share a photo tutorial on how I created the hearts I used for the mixed media card I posted earliertutori for Pretty Paper Studio.

Here is the card...

Some close-up shots of the heart.

Just a little air dry clay is enough, about the size of a marble.

I mist the palm of my hands with water before rolling the clay into a ball. This would prevent cracks.

I mold the clay in to a heart by using my pinky finger to create the top and pinching the bottom. Please excuse the foot of my daughter, she was helping me take the picture and also my inky fingers.

This is how the clay should look like after molding it.

I let the clay air overnight then I cut it into half with ordinary scissors.

I painted it with distress stain.

When the stain is dry, I apply clear glue all over the clay then sprinkle some distress glitter over them.

The finish product.

Berry71bleu "Mixed Media" February Challenge

Hi everyone!! I'm here to share a layout I created as a birthday gift for myself. It's been quite a while since I created something for myself and I enjoyed every minute making it.
This is also my layout entry for Berry 71 Blue mixed media February challenge. The challenge is to create a project using more than one medium.

Here is my layout.
It was Chinese New year and a non working holiday here plus.... it was my birthday. No work for Mommy and No school for Isis! So we were just laying down on the bed watching tv and decided to do some "selfies" =). Love love love our photos. We took pictures of us laughing and making faces. Just the perfect gift for my birthday.... priceless!!!

For my base I use watercolor paper misted all over using diluted distress reinkers. Next, I applied extra heavy gesso from vallejo while it's still wet I added my chipboard and mesh. Then I applied more mediums using a palette knife. Here are some of the mediums I used: folk art textured paint (gray), pabeo textured gel (white sand) and vallejo glass beads gel. I also stamped on random areas. When I am happy with the background I start layering my papers and other embellies making sure of the placement before adhering. Lastly, I mist again to add finishing touches.

Here are some close-up shots
This is the vallejo glass beads gel. Pretty right?

Floral cluster and some stamping underneath it.

Here are the other mediums I used. Folk art textured paint and pabeo textured gel.

That's all for today.... Thanks for dropping by and happy crafting!!!

All Dressed Up Challenge #8

Hi crafty friends!!!
I'm here to share a card I made as an entry for All Dressed Up challenge #8 with
the theme "Love is in the Air" just in time for Valentines Day.

Here is my card using Love is in the Air digital image.

The image is colored with copic markers and the sentiment "i love you" is a free downloadable tag that I got from the internet.
I distress the edges with my distressing tool then I drew some lines to make it look like
stitches. Underneath the image are layers of patterned papers.

Here is a close-up shot of the colored image. You can find more of ADU digi images here.

Pretty Paper Studio "All About Love" February Challenge

Hi everyone!!! Good morning!!! Ime here to share some projects for Pretty Paper Studio, with "Love" as our theme.

Here is my first project. This is a mixed media card I created using stamped patterned papers that I layered on top of each other. I added some gauze underneath a prima paintables paper that I painted it with distress markers. When it's dry I painted tattered glaze over the rose image then I heat set it to dry. For the background, I rubbed some distress ink over the prima paintables using a makeup sponge.

Close-up shot of the rose.

My second project is a corrugated carton box I bought from a craft store. I altered the box by distressing all the edges using walnut stain. For my background, I layered some pieces of paper that I also distress using my paper edger.I also added other embellishments like flowers, a doily, rhinestones, small wooden people and printable coupon that I got from the internet.

Here what it looks like inside. I added some trims, flowers and more coupons.

Here is my third project. This is a coupon book I created by binding all the coupons then binding it using twine.

1000 Steps from Home - Supreme Scrap Tournament Challenge 1

Hi ladies!! Today I want to share my first ever 2 page layout for SST.

I normally start a layout by choosing the photos I will use then I search for the perfect paper for my base
(thick patterned paper or water color paper).
I position my photos on the page without adhering it then the fun begins....

Here is my take on this week's challenge....

Some close-ups...

I made my background using a stencil and textured paint. When the medium is dry, I applied wild honey distress ink using make up sponge then I layered some embellishments. My last step was to add distress stain to the layout to create splatter effects.

Happy crafting!!!
